NCTE conducted a 2-Day Orientation/ Capacity Building Workshop on National Mission for Mentoring for selected 60 Mentors on 31st May & 1st June 2023. NMM was a budget mandate of FY-2021 aligned with NEP 2020 and is a flagship programme of NCTE. NCTE launched NMM in 30 centrally owned schools (15 KVS, 10 NVS and 5 CBSE). NCTE has onboarded 60 Mentors selected for NMM to facilitate the mentoring session on the NMM web portal. The 2-Day Orientation/ Capacity Building Workshop conducted for selected 60 mentors was immensely beneficial in orienting them toward NMM and its implementation. Prof. Yogesh Singh, Chairperson launched the NMM web Portal in the inaugural session of the workshop. The NMM Web Portal developed by NCTE will facilitate the implementation of NMM and enable Mentor-Mentee interaction. The 2nd Day of the workshop started with Technical Session – III felicitated by Prof. K. Ramachandran, Senior Advisor, NIEPA and spoke on the “Essential Skills for Mentoring”. The session continued Technical Session - IV facilitated by Prof. Haneet Gandhi from University of Delhi and Dr. Swaroop Sampat, Educationist & Actor. The final session was on the NMM Web Portal Introduction & Demonstration for all the mentors present during the Technical Session-V which was facilitated by the NCTE team. The Web Portal developed by NCTE will facilitate the implementation of NMM and enable Mentor-Mentee interaction. The program ended with a Vote of Thanks by Smt. Deepti Swaroop, DS (Acad.), NCTE. The workshop was immensely helpful in the orientation and capacity-building of the mentors and generates new ideas based on the inputs from the mentors participating in the workshop which are significant for the effective implementation of NMM programme.
