NOTIFICATION

 

New Delhi, the 6th October, 2003

 

 G.S.R. 801(E). In exercise of powers conferred by Section 31 of the National Council for Teacher Education Act, 1993 (No. 73 of 1993), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules to amend the National Council for Teacher Education Rules, 1997 namely:-

 

1.(i)These Rules may be called the National Council for Teacher Education (Amendment) Rules, 2003.

 

(ii)     They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

 

2.In the National Council for Teacher Education Rules, 1997, for rule 9, the following shall be substituted, namely:-

 

  1. Fees.Every application made under Sub-section (1) of Section 14 to the concerned Regional Committee for obtaining grant of recognition under the Act by any institution offering or intending to offer a course or training in teacher education on or after the appointed day and every application made under Sub-section (1) of section 15 to the concerned Regional Committee for grant of permission for starting any new course or training in teacher education or for increasing intake in respect of an existing course by a recognized institution shall be accompanied by a fee of Rs. 40,000:

 

Provided that Government institutions shall be exempt from payment of the fee under this rule.
